Khliehriat, Apr 30: The district disaster management authority (DDMA) of East Jaintia Hills district yesterday organised a training programme aimed at bolstering disaster preparedness.
The session focused on equipping block-level officials and frontline responders with essential skills and knowledge to manage emergencies effectively.
The training provided participants with practical insights into incident management and effective communication strategies, which are crucial for coordinated efforts during crises.
The Block Incident Response Team (IRT) plays a vital role in local disaster management strategies. During emergencies, quick and efficient responses are necessary to mitigate the impact of disasters.
The training session targeted officials from both Wapung and Lumshnong, fostering collaboration and enhancing their response capacity. Topics covered included risk assessment, resource mobilization, and community engagement.
