Shillong, Apr 24: A single bench of the Meghalaya High Court consisting of Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere has agreed to club all the cases registered against Sofior Rahman in different districts of the state.
During the hearing, K Paul, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that three cases have been registered against the former GHADC MDC out of the same Facebook post that is said to have inflamed passions before or during the communal violence in Garo Hills last month.
The three cases were registered at Tura Police Station, Songsak Police Station and Araimile Police Station. The former two will be transferred to the latter as Araimile was where the first FIR against Rahman was lodged.
