Shillong, Apr 23: The Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards will carry out a mock air raid drill on Friday evening.
The purpose of the exercise is to test public readiness. A one minute air raid siren will sound at 7pm. Electricity supply will not be cut but the public has been urged to switch off all lights, electrical appliances, inverters and even outdoor stadium lights and remain indoors until the all-clear signal is given.
