Shillong, Apr 4:Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday met with party leaders and workers from Jaintia Hills to discuss a range of developmental, social, and political matters.
Sangma who is the national president of the National People’s Party (NPP) discussed key concerns related to teachers, provident fund matters, farmers’ issues, and other important topics affecting the welfare and progress of the people were discussed during the meeting.
“Grateful for the constructive discussions and continued commitment of our workers towards strengthening grassroots engagement and development,” Sangma said on social media.
Meanwhile, the NPP national president also held a meeting with the waheh chnong from Jaintia Hills to deliberate on key issues concerning governance and development.
Sangma stated that discussions focused on border-related matters affecting local communities, proposed amendments to Rules 8 and 128 of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council to strengthen administrative processes.
There were discussions also on clearing pending liabilities under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act before moving forward with the adoption of VB-G-RAM-G to ensure smooth implementation and accountability.
