Shillong, Apr 1: The Meghalaya Police has received the prestigious President of India’s Police Colour Award, one of the most prestigious and high-level recognition bestowed upon police forces in the country.
The President’s Colour symbolizes not just honour but also acknowledges the sustained dedication, courage, and integrity demonstrated by the officers and personnel of Meghalaya Police in the discharge of their duties.
Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang described the recognition as a moment of immense pride not only for the force but for the entire state of Meghalaya.
She emphasised that this honour brings with it an added responsibility to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and public service.
“Meghalaya Police remains committed to further strengthening its capabilities, enhancing public trust, and serving the citizens with fairness, transparency, and accountability,” a statement from her office said.
Nongrang expressed gratitude to the government for their continued support, guidance and encouragement and expressed appreciation to the people of Meghalaya for their trust, cooperation and partnership with the police, which remain vital in maintaining peace and security in the state.
She said the honour acknowledges the collective efforts and sacrifices of all ranks, both serving and retired, who have contributed to building a disciplined, efficient, and people-friendly police force.
The DGP further congratulated all officers and personnel for their exemplary service and dedication.
