Shillong, Mar 30: Lok Bhavan today celebrated the statehood and foundation days of Bihar, Odisha, and Rajasthan with palpable enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The event was attended by Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar as the chief guest, along with the first lady Babitha Vijayashankar in the presence of C.P. Marak, Chairperson of the Meghalaya Lokayukta, alongside other distinguished guests and officials.
The Governor extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Bihar, Odisha, and Rajasthan, highlighting their crucial roles in the growth and unity of our nation. He noted that Bihar has played a vital role in shaping India’s democratic and social fabric, steadily progressing in sectors such as education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
He praised Odisha for its resilience and remarkable efforts in disaster management and sustainable development, while noting its increasing importance as an industrial and economic hub. On Rajasthan, he spotlighted the state’s advancements in tourism, renewable energy, and water conservation, underscoring its leadership in solar energy and its ability to blend tradition with modernity.
The Governor underlined that these celebrations reflect the spirit of unity in diversity and align with the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
The program featured cultural presentations that showcased the vibrant traditions of the three states, making the celebrations more colourful and engaging. The event concluded with a renewed sense of national pride and a commitment to collective progress among all attendees.
