New Delhi, Mar 26: MPs from the Northeast paid rich tributes to Shillong MP Ricky Andrew Jones Syngkon who passed away last month.
At a memorial function held in the Parliament complex on Tuesday, parliamentarians under the banner of the North East MPs’ Forum spoke extensively about Syngkon’s life, work and dedicated service to the people of Meghalaya during his lifetime.
“I have paid tributes at the condolence meeting of Late Dr Ricky A J Syngkon ji, Hon’ble Lok Sabha MP from Shillong, at Parliament House, New Delhi. Joined by his family members and MPs from the North East, we remembered his dedicated service to the people of Meghalaya and his unwavering commitment to public life,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said.
The MPs who attended the meeting included Tapir Gao, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Wanweiroy Kharluki, S Phangnon Konyak, Richard Vanlalhmangaiha, Dorjee Tshering Lepcha and Indra Hang Subba.
Among the family members, Syngkon’s brother, sister and niece were present on the occasion. (PTI)
