Shillong, Mar 9: Meghalaya State Food Commission chairperson Donald P Wahlang said the commission is dedicated to ensuring that no beneficiary is deprived of food and urged individuals to approach it with any grievances.
Addressing a regional camp organised by the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of East Khasi Hills District in collaboration with the commission, Wahlang said the camp is part of its ongoing efforts to reinforce the implementation of NFSA.
Wahlang said should any issue regarding grievance redressal remain unresolved at the vigilance committee, district level, or even within the directorate of food and civil supplies, the commission is available to assist and guarantee that no eligible individual is denied access to food.
He emphasised the role of the commission which is in overseeing the implementation of food security schemes across various departments, including Food & Civil Supplies, Public Distribution System (PDS), education, PM-POSHAN, and Social Welfare, which responsible for Anganwadi Centre, and asserted that no individual goes hungry or is deprived of food.
