Shillong, Mar 4: After 26 years in the Congress Party Edmund S Sangma has resigned as general secretary of the West Garo Hills District Congress Committee and quit the party entirely.
In his resignation letter, Sangma cited personal reasons, stating that excessive commitments had left him unable to fulfill his responsibilities and that it was time to make way for someone with more time and energy.
Sangma thanked the party for the opportunities provided during his tenure and forwarded the letter to the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president and working president in Shillong.
