Shillong, Mar 1: East Khasi Hills won the Asmita Roll Ball League, organised by East Khasi Hills Roll Ball Association in association with Meghalaya Roll Ball Association. West Jaintia Hills were second, while West Khasi Hills finished third.
Five districts participated in the league, which concluded yesterday, at St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School in Shillong.
Asmita Khelo India is a special initiative under the central government aimed at promoting women’s participation in sports.
This league was conducted mainly to encourage girls to actively participate in sports, provide a competitive platform at the grassroots level, promote fitness, confidence and leadership qualities, identify and nurture young sporting talent and empower girls through discipline, teamwork and self-belief.
