Shillong, Feb 26: The 12th annual Science fair, ‘EdScientia,’ was organised today at St. Edmund’s College under the theme ‘Innovate for a Green, Tech-Driven Bharat.’
The campus witnessed vibrant participation from students, faculty members, and visiting schools, making the event a dynamic celebration of science, sustainability, and innovation.
The fair featured innovative model exhibitions, concept presentations, and the engaging “Problem Wall – Solution Challenge,” where participants proposed practical, multidisciplinary solutions to real-world problems. The exhibits emphasized scientific principles, technological applications, and environmental responsibility.
The Geological Survey of India, Zoological Survey of India, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Shillong Municipal Board and the State Council of Science, Technology and Environment also set up interactive stalls, enriching the learning experience of visitors. Expert interactions provided valuable real-world exposure to students on geology, biodiversity, environmental governance, urban management, and scientific development initiatives in the state.
Deputy Director General & Head of Department (In charge), of the Geological Survey of India, North-Eastern Region Pankaj Jaiswal attended the valedictory function.
In his address, he encouraged young minds to cultivate scientific curiosity, innovation, and responsibility toward sustainable national development. He appreciated the college for creating a meaningful platform that connects academia with government scientific institutions.
Winners across various categories were felicitated for their originality, clarity of scientific concepts, and societal relevance.
EdScientia is aimed at nurturing scientific temperament, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation among the youth of Meghalaya.
