Shillong, Feb 9: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma was conferred with the CBCI National Award 2026. The award, for exceptional service to society and the nation, was presented at the 37th general body meeting of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India in Bangalore.
Sangma expressed gratitude, saying the award motivates him to uphold Christian values. He acknowledged the Catholic Church’s role in shaping youth, especially in the North Eastern region, and assured continued collaboration.
This year’s CBCI awardees include 19 individuals recognised for their selfless service and leadership.
