Shillong, Jan 28:In an effort to strengthen grassroots participation in the fight against substance abuse, the DREAM (Drug Reduction, Elimination & Action Mission) of the Meghalaya government convened a consultative meeting with women community leaders today.
Over 50 representatives of the Seng Kynthei of various neighbourhoods attended, a press release informed.
The meeting focused on enhancing community-led prevention strategies and reinforcing women’s pivotal role in safeguarding families and neighbourhoods from drug abuse. Members of multiple Seng Kynthei units shared insights, highlighting emerging challenges, vulnerable groups and the need for awareness, early intervention, counselling and collective action.
