Shillong, Jan 23: The 11th India International Dance and Music Festival was organised by the state’s Department of Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) North East zonal office on January 22-23 at the U Soso Tham Auditorium here.
Dignitaries included Adviser to the State Government, Paul Lyngdoh, and ICCR Deputy Director Manisha Swami.
The main highlight of the evening was the performance by artistes from Kyrgyzstan, which added a distinctive dimension to the evening, as their traditional music and dance presentations captivated the audience and created a lively cultural ambience.
The festival continued the next day with performances from the 20fus Band from Maldives and a musical ensemble from Burkina Faso. Their presence further enriched the festival by presenting diverse musical traditions and expressions, reflecting the spirit of global cultural harmony and mutual appreciation.
