Jowai, Nov 4: An unidentified human skeleton was recovered from Rachi forest in Mookyndur village, police said today.
West Jaiñtia Hills Superintendent of Police said the remains were recovered on October 31, last. Necessary formalities have been observed, and an inquest has been conducted, he said.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown till date.
A red thread, three keys, and a safety pin were found near the skeletal remains, he said.
Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the deceased by contacting the nearest Police Station or Ummulong Beat House at phone numbers 6002152968/ 9774065467 within five days.
