Khliehriat, Oct 15: An interstate drug supplier and his aide were arrested by Anti-Narcotics Task Force of East Jaintia Hills District, police said today.
Acting on intelligence input, the team conducted a coordinated operation and arrested one Abdul Rob Laskar alias Munna (22) of Kabuganj, Silchar in Assam yesterday.
Police said the accused was travelling in a car from Silchar, Assam. During search, five soap boxes containing 60 grams of heroin were seized from his possession.
Later with the help of the State Anti-Narcotics Task Force, a habitual offender and co-accused Asif Wahlang of Hari Sabha Laban, Shillong was arrested.
A Hyndai Venue car bearing registration number AS-01-EJ-8977 was also seized.
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Lumshnong Police Station and investigation is underway.
