Shillong, Oct 2: NEIGRIHMS conducted a total of 57 health camps, awareness and screening programs, blood donation camps and specialty camps across the state under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar (SNSPA) campaign.
The campaign which was successfully spearheaded by Prof. Star Pala (HoD Community Medicine and Nodal officer SN-SPA) reported a turnover of 13,760 females and 12,174 males who were extended the benefits of these health activities.
The institute also set up Aadhaar and ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) registration counters at OPD area and provided help for registration and correction of Aadhaar and ABHA cards to all patients and attendants who visited NEIGRIHMS during the campaign.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the campaign, NEIGRIHMS Director Prof (Dr) Nalin Mehta said that patients’ needs health care schemes for getting cashless benefits during their treatment at various health care institutes across the state and by providing these services, NEIGRIHMS has made sure that patients are not deprived of the health scheme benefits due to lack of Aadhaar cards.
Mehta applauded the efforts from NEIGRIHMS faculty and staff in organising the events successfully at various locations and also expressed gratitude towards the State government and all schools, colleges, army establishments and health institutes who supported and collaborated with NEIGRIHMS during the fortnight.
Meanwhile, the institute launched the Special Campaign 5.0 with the cleaning drive organised in association with the taxi drivers outside the main gate in celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas. NEIGRIHMS is organising various cleaning activities and health awareness activities till October 30 with focus on disposal of e-waste generated in government offices in compliance with e-waste management.
