Shillong, Sep 20: Social activist Greneth M Sangma has urged South Garo Hills Superintendent of Police to restore the Anti Dacoity camp in Mindikgre.
Sangma said the AD camp was closed down due to the blasting incident in Siju.
He recalled a proposal dated June 15, 2021 by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (A) for setting up a police station at Mindikgre, a long standing demand made by the local community since 2018. Sangma said reestablishment of a police station/outpost would be a step in that direction.
Sangma urged the SP to take necessary steps to reestablish the AD Camp at Mindikgre until a permanent police station is set up.
