Shillong, Sep 2: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has reminded all private and public institutions in East Khasi HIlls that they are mandated to constitute an internal complaints committee (ICC) under Section 4 (1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013.
A report on this should be submitted to the DC’s office within 30 days, failing which action will be taken under Sec 26 of the act.
The DC said in a notification today that this should be considered as a final warning and violators will henceforward be punished under the act.
