The vibrant traditional thanksgiving festival, Shad Suk Mynsiem, concluded at Umtrew, Ri-Bhoi today.
The annual celebration drew hundreds of spectators who gathered to witness the rich cultural heritage of the Khasi community through a display of traditional dance and music.
This year’s festival featured 135 dancers, including 70 girls and 65 men. Known as the spring festival, Shad Suk Mynsiem was organised by the Seng Khasi Umtrew and attracted attendees from across the region.
Distinguished guests at the event included Robin Kurbah, president of Seng Khihlang; Sukdor Kharakor, assistant secretary of Seng Khasi Kmie; Shembok Nongkhlaw, president of Seng Khasi Ri-Bhoi Pyllun; and L Sungoh, president of Seng Khasi Umtrew.
