Four suspected drug traffickers were caught in Laitumkhrah, one of the cosmopolitan areas of the city with a supply of heroin in their possession.
At around 3pm and acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police intercepted the four on the road near Nazareth Hospital.
Eleven soap cases containing heroin weighing 154.02 grammes were recovered by the police along with Rs 63,400 in cash. Four mobile phones and a Meghalaya-registered Alto K10 (ML 05 Q 1599) were also seized by police.
