The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya apprehended four Bangladeshis, including an Indian tout while attempting to infiltrate into India near the international border in South Garo Hills district.
The BSF in a statement today said acting on specific intelligence regarding illegal crossings, troops from the 200th Battalion alerted the Baghmara MCP and launched an operation.
During the operation, a Tata Winger vehicle, suspected of facilitating the illegal crossing was intercepted. After an inspection, the Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian were apprehended, and the vehicle was seized.
All the apprehended individuals were handed over to the Baghmara police station for legal action.
