In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where eight cases were uncovered in May, wherein indigenous liquor totalling 36.125 litres and 33.220 litres of IMFL were seized.
Four persons were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
