Three more persons of the new militant outfit, National Liberation Council of Nongkyndong (NLCN) were arrested by the police.
Police said the self-styled area commander of East Khasi Hills was arrested from Ïewduh here today, while two cadres of the outfit were arrested last night from West Jaiñtia Hills.
The number of arrested made so far is 11.
The operation to bust the new outfit was launched yesterday leading to the arrest of seven members including a woman and a juvenile.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the juvenile is the “Chairman” of the terror-outfit. We have started interrogating all the arrested suspects to find out the motive behind the formation of NLCN,” a police official said on condition of anonymity.
Incidentally, this minor was probably in touch with some of the dreaded militant outfits in the region. He has been sent to the Juvenile Home.
Meanwhile, all the arrested persons were sent to eight days police custody by a local court.
The juvenile was sent to a sent to juvenile home and the woman who is the recruiter and record keeper of the NLCU is admitted at Ganesh Das hospital as she is pregnant for three months, police said.
According to police the NLCN had tied up with other militant outfits of Nagaland and it was supposed to send the first batch for armed training in Nagaland on August 17.
