Khliehriat, Nov 28: The Court of B. Khriam, Special Judge (POCSO), Khliehriat has sentenced a man to 25 years rigorous imprisonment for rape of a minor.
Leiki Rymbai has been convicted for the offence under section 5(n)/6 of POCSO Act that deals with aggravated penetrative sexual assault on a minor.
The case was registered at Khliehriat Women Police Station in 2023, which was investigated by WPSI JM Kurbah.
The court also directed the convict to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh. In default he will have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a year and pay a fine of Rs 5000.
