Succumbing to pressure from various quarters, the Meghalaya Cements Limited (Topcem) has terminated two of its employees for use of provocative and incendiary slogans to beat up protesters at the public hearing held at Thangskai.
The company through a press release informed that the services of Arun Kejriwal and Umesh Kumar have been terminated.
The two employees are accused of provoking a milieu between the police and the mob protesting the public hearing on August 24, which was recorded by local news channel.
While East Jaiñtia Hills police has registered a case against them at Lumshnong police station, a pressure groups has also lodged a FIR while the Topcem Employees Association and the Jaiñtia National Council have demanded their termination.
