In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 19 cases were uncovered in September wherein 95.70 litres of indigenous liquor and 37.21 litres of IMFL were seized.
Sixteen people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
