A passing out parade, maintaining social distancing norms, was held today for the 2nd Batch Basic Training Recruit Constables of 6th Meghalaya Police Battalion, Umran at the Meghalaya Police Academy.
Eight female personnel and 116 males graduated today. Director General of Police R Chandranathan was the chief guest and welcomed the recruits to Meghalaya Police. He also congratulated the trainees and faculty for the immaculate drill exhibition.
The recruits underwent a rigorous basic training module for 44 weeks, including training on maintenance of law and order, counterinsurgency operations and various other indoor and outdoor subjects.
Recruits who were awarded today for their exemplary performance during training were Pentune R Marak (best trainee in physical training), Jigash I Sangma (best trainee in drill), Doloris Pariong (best trainee in outdoor subjects), Makri Dkhar (best disciplined trainee), David John Suchiang (best trainee in musketry) and Sporningstar Kharpuri (all round best trainee).
