With an aim to familiarise youth of North Garo Hills on various job oriented schemes, the District Commerce & Industries Centre held an awareness programme on schemes under its department yesterday at BJN Hall in Resubelpara.
Resubelpara C &RD block, BDO, Rojalinda D Shira said that the programme emphasised on promoting self employment to the youth by making them aware of the schemes.
Lauding the DCIC in their endeavour towards generating sustainable development and employment to the youth, she apprised that the department not only provide trainings but also sponsor rising entrepreneurs in setting up units of their specialised trade with assistance in terms of loans, stipend and market linkages.
Many entrepreneurs were unable to launch their start up businesses due to lack of financial aid, market access, etc but with the support of convergence departments the entrepreneurs will be equipped with better infrastructure and environment to facilitate their growth, she added.
She urged youth to grab the opportunity of the schemes and venture into self employment and dwelt at length on various livelihood programmes being implemented under C&RD.
Others who highlighted on various aspects of the schemes including eligibility criteria, schemes detail and benefits were I Z Wreang, General Manager DCIC, Nethaji Marak, Functional Manager, A D Shira, IPO and Mike Henchard Momin, APO, Resubelpara block.
Master Craftsman, Registration of Units, PMEGP, training inside & outside, industrial exhibition, awareness & entrepreneurship development programme and department training centres were the schemes informed to the gathering during the programme.
