Shillong, Sep 24: Family, friends, well wishers paid their final respects to Ibaihun Kurbah, a 20-year-old athlete, who died after months-long battle against kidney disease.
Ibaihun was a promising athlete who had represented Meghalaya as a goalkeeper, such as in the Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship in 2019. She had also kept goal for Lawei SC of Smit in the Shillong Sports Association’s Women’s League.
She was laid to rest at the St. Thomas Parish Catholic Cemetery, Pyndengumiong, Mairang.
The sports community and villagers expressed their profound sadness over the untimely passing of Ibaihun, who was known for her dedication and passion for sports.
