Two Second World War bombs were defused after being found in Ri Bhoi district today.
Land owners in Mawlyndep village found the two bombs while digging the ground for construction purposes, sources said. The village headman was informed who then alerted the Umiam Police Station.
The bomb squad team managed to defuse the bombs safely, sources added.
