A workshop on ‘Space Technology for Sustainable Water Resources Management’ was held here today in the run-up to the observation of National Space Day to commemorate the success of Chandrayaan-3 Mission.
The workshop was organised by the Water Resources Department, Meghalaya in collaboration with NPMU, National Hydrology Project, Government of India.
Water Resources Minister Comingone Ymbon attended the programme as the chief guest. During his speech, the minister noted that India is rapidly progressing in space technology which is being utilised across all development departments.
He said that space technology has become essential for addressing global challenges, including water resource management.
The minister also informed that the department under the National Hydrology Project has already formulated a framework to utilise today’s technology in managing and conserving precious water resources.
