Shillong, Aug 3: A one-day workshop on ‘Teaching Contemporary North East India in accordance with NEP Syllabus’ was conducted on July 30 at St Anthony’s College here.
The event was organised by the college’s Department of History and witnessed participation from college teachers from various institutions in Meghalaya.
The workshop aimed to familiarise educators with the evolving curriculum needs outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and to provide insights into effective methods for teaching the history and dynamics of the contemporary North East.
The resource persons for the workshop were scholars from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), namely Prof SN Lamare, head of the Department of History, and Binayak Datta, associate professor in the same department.
Their sessions offered deep academic engagement, focusing on the historical, political, and cultural aspects of the North East within the NEP framework.
