The Meghalaya State Commission for Women in collaboration with St. Anthony’s College, Shillong will organise a National Parliament for Women on March 8 at the St. Anthony’s College auditorium from 11 am onwards.
The programme is part of celebration og International Women’s Day and is supported by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi.
The National Parliament for Women (NPW) provides a platform for women from diverse backgrounds to highlight and discuss their gender specific issues.
Women from politics, social sector, education, media, police etc will come together to share their experiences, share knowledge and research in the area of women’s social economic and political empowerment.
Meghalaya State Commission for Women chairperson Phidalia Toi will deliver her introductory speech at the programme.
Patricia Mukhim (Editor, The Shillong Times), Linza Fenny Syiem (Senior Coach, Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs), Mary G T Sangma (Principal, Police Training School, Umran), Prof. Badaplin War (Khasi Department, NEHU), and Mitali Chandra SDO, (Sadar), East Khasi Hills) will share their experiences, challenges and knowledge at the women’s parliament.
