A woman police sub-inspector from Meghalaya is among the 463 police personnel of the country who were conferred the ‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’
The medal is given to police personnel of various states, union territories, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organisations (CPOs) for the year 2024.
Sub-Inspector Cheryl R. Kharkongor was given the medal for her efficiency in the investigation field. She is among the 107 police personnel from the country who were honoured with the medal in the field of investigation.
The medal is given to recognise excellent work, promote high professional standards and boost the morale of the police personnel in the fields of Special Operation, Investigation, Intelligence and Forensic Science.
The ‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ has been instituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and was notified on February 1, 2024. The medal will be announced on 31st of October every year on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
