A 38-year old woman was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills for allegedly supplying drugs in the city today evening.
The woman has been identified as Rachel Ningboi of Thembasuk, Block F, Madanryting, police said.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger informed that police got a tip-off about a consignment of suspected banned contraband at her house.
“Independent witnesses were arranged from the area and as per CrPC/NDPS procedures search was conducted by the ANTF EKH in her house. During the house search 10 soap boxes containing the contraband were found in a carton box,” he said.
The SP further said that preliminary test confirmed that the contraband item was Heroin weighing 107. 78 gm. An NDPS case is being registered at Madanryting police station, he added.
