Shillong, Mar 7: Four residents of Hawai Sutnga, West Jaintia Hills district were allegedly assaulted unprovoked on March 5.
Waheh shnong Dimon Suchiang in a FIR lodged said the individuals assaulted are Livingstone Suchiang, the village secretary, along with Wallambok Suchiang, Mehi Pala, and Fairness Bthuh.
Suchiang stated that the victims were ambushed by a group including Panon Tati, Akon Tati, Sisu Tati, and others from Lakroh village. He said assault occurred around 5: 45 pm as the victims were returning home after participating in a football game in Muktapur village.
The accused were reportedly travelling in a vehicle, registration number WB-02U-4238, when they launched the attack, resulting in serious injuries to the youths. They were taken to Pdengshakap PHC, West Jaintia Hills district for treatment.
Suchiang also alleged that the accused even tried to assault him.
The waheh shnong in the FIR before the Officer-In-Charge Muktapur Police Patrolling Post stated that the attack against the residents of Hawai Sutnga was unprovoked.
“From our side we did not quarrel or have any previous enmity with them and their actions proves that they wanted to injure the victims,” he said in the FIR.
He urged local authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter to uncover the truth and hold the assailants accountable.
