The Achik State People’s Front (ASPF) conducted a bike rally and poster campaign aimed at raising awareness on the need for a Winter Capital in Tura.
The event commenced in Gokol, North Garo Hills, and traversed several locations, including Bajengdoba, Pedaldoba, and Raksamgre, ultimately concluding at Kamari Tikirkilla in West Garo Hills on March 22.
ASPF chief organising secretary Raksim Marak highlighted the objectives of the rally and the campaign. “This initiative forms an integral part of our broader awareness campaign advocating for the establishment of the Winter Capital in Tura. Through this poster and banner campaign, we seek to enhance public understanding of our rights,” he said.
Marak said the objective is to foster community unity and strengthen the movement towards realizing the long-standing aspiration of the people.
The rally reached its destination at Kamari (Tikirkilla) in West Garo Hills, where Ronald Sangma, Adviser to the Eastern Zone appreciated all participants for taking part.
