Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said that the target for completion of the new building for the Williamnagar Government College is 2022 for which construction will begin January, next.
The Chief Minister who laid the foundation stone for the new builing today stressed on the need to lay a base for achieving the goals. He highlighted the steps being taken by the government for improving education in the State and lauded local MLA, Marcuise N Marak for his initiatives towards the present status of the college.
Informing the people about the steps of the government for improving the road connectivity in the state, the Chief Minister said that funds have sanctioned for improving the roads which have been neglected for decades. He also informed that the construction of Tribal Research Centre will be completed by the year 2022.
Marcuise N Marak, highlighted the steps taken by the government for improving the College in Williamnagar and lauded the Chief Minister for sanctioning of a new building for the college which was established in the year 2000 and taken over by the government in 2009.
Director of Higher and Technical Education, Ambrose Ch Marak, former Chairman of GHADC, Denang T Sangma, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe and Principal of the college, Rajiv K Marak were also present.
