Shillong, Aug 20: William Carey University observed Anti-Ragging Week 2025 from August 12 to 18 with a series of awareness programmes, competitions and cultural activities aimed at promoting a safe and inclusive campus environment.
The week-long observance included essay writing, slogan writing, poster making, quiz, debate competitions, stage plays and screenings of short films/documentaries on anti-ragging.
The valedictory function on August 18 saw Paramjit Singh Bakshi (Professor of Practice) and retired Prof OP Singh of NEHU, Grievance Cell Ombudsperson, as special invited guests. Both speakers highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in eradicating ragging and encouraged students to uphold the values of dignity and mutual respect.
