Due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in Qualapatty Block 4 and to ensure early detection through house-to-house searches and contact tracing, the East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has declared the whole of Qualapatty Block 4 to be a containment zone from today so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit.
Other containment zones were declared for the house of Ranjan Nath near Puja Mandap, Upper Jail Road; the house of Bharat Nath Singh at Khliehshnong, Golf Link, Pynthorumkhrah; the house of Ranjit Kr Dey at Pdengshnong, Golf LinK, Pynthorumkhrah; Flat No. 2, Greenview Apartments, Harisabha Laban; and the house of Nijabul Hussein, Qutub Manzil, Keating Road.
Meanwhile, containment orders were lifted from R Kurbah compound, Mawlonghat (adjacent to Punjabi Lane); the house of Renuka Rai, c/o Ganesh Store, opposite Income Tax Quarters, Keating Road; Gold’s Gym Shillong, Lower Lachumiere; and the south side servants quarters at Ferndale Apartments and W-304 of Ferndale Apartments. Containment orders have also been lifted from Goenka Compound, Mawlonghat; the building of HS Sohliya, near Laban Sports Club; and Birma Jalan compound, c/o Ganesh Store, opposite Income Tax Quarters. However, the house of Neelam Gaur, Mawlonghat has been retained as a containment area.
