Police in West Garo Hills have sought public assistance to identify the body of a woman, recovered at Rimtangpara village.
Police said, the woman recovered by a roadside near the village, was wearing a black cotton palazzo pant and grey long-sleeved sweater and a silver chain and religious amulters (tabis) around the neck.
The woman appears to be a non-tribal and about 4 feet 8 inches in height.
Police said the body has been kept at the Tura Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
