Jirang MLA and government chief whip, Sosthenes Sohtun, today unveiled the foundation stone for an integrated block development office for Western Ri-Bhoi.
These complexes are meant to improve government services in rural areas and bring governance closer to the people. This particular complex is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.77 crore.
Also present on the occasion was Victor Ranee MDC, Patharkmah civil sub-division officer MB Tongper, other civil servants, village leaders and others.
Sohtun expressed his happiness and dedicated this achievement to the people of Western Ri-Bhoi who have shown their trust and willingness to collaborate in developmental projects that benefit the entire region.
He also mentioned that the completion of the full-fledged office building is nearing after 20 years of waiting. He hoped that the office and complex will serve the people with various government services in the months to come after the building’s completion.
