The Voice of the People Party (VPP) will organise a ‘Rally of Gratitude’ at Polo Ground on March 18 at 11 am.
In the rally, there will be a speech of gratitude to the people of the State for their immense support to the party from party chief and Nongkrem MLA Ardent M. Basaiawmoit.
Also, there will be a felicitation for the composer and singer of the party’s election campaign song, “Kongdeng Kongnah Ha U Prah”.
The party has urged all its supporters and sympathisers to attend the rally.
It may be mentioned that VPP won four seats in the recent Assembly elections. The seats are Nongkrem, Mawryngkneng, North Shillong and Mawlai.
The party also came a close second in Mylliem when its candidate Aibandaplin F. Lyngdoh lost by a margin of only 37 votes.
While the VPP candidate from Mawlai, Brightstarwell Marbaniang defeated his nearest NPP rival Teiborlang Pathaw by a margin of over 15,000 votes, the party candidates who lost in many constituencies polled huge percentage of votes.
