The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has strongly condemned the VIP culture in the State and demanded that the recent hit and run case near the ICAR complex on November 15 and other similar cases that happened in the past should be investigated in order to bring justice to the victims.
Stating that the VIP culture is practiced not only by those in power but even by their family members “who think that they are above the law making democracy a mockery, VPP spokespersons Batskhem Myrboh said, “Many precious lives were lost in different parts of the state bringing tragedy to the affected families. The prevalence of this pernicious culture directly and indirectly affects the people psychologically and adversely affecting their quality of life.”
“I strongly urge upon the police department to straighten their spine to stand up protecting the rights of even the perceived least important member of the society as per the supposedly calling of their duty. It is high time that the law enforcement acts on cases against the high level without fear or favour to bring back confidence of the people. Therefore, the party demands that the recent hit and run case near the ICAR complex on November 15, 2024 and such other similar cases that happened in the past be investigated independently and fairly to bring justice to the victims,” Myrboh added.
