Voice of the People Party (VPP) president Ardent M. Basaiawmoit today said that his party wanted an early decision by the State government to constitute an expert committee to review and revamp the job reservation policy.
Addressing a large gathering at Iawmusiang in Jowai today, Basaiawmoit asked the State government to put on hold all recruitment examinations till all the anomalies in the roster system are rectified.
“We are waiting for the government to form an expert committee on this matter at the earliest. If the government fails to do so, our party will launch a public movement on this issue,” Basaiawmoit said.
He also said that the implementation of the roster system has caused worry and apprehension among the educated unemployed youth as they may not get jobs under the present arrangement.
Basaiawmoit also lashed out at the VIP culture under the present government, waste of public money on political appointees, rampant corruption and illegal mining and transportation of coal to benefit only few people in power.
