The ASEZ WAO, which is a volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God, carried out a cleaning drive within the city from Khyndailad (Police Bazar), GS Road, to Motphran today.
Basnki Dkhar of the ASEZ WAO informed that the clean drive was part of the 8178 volunteer activities of the worldwide ‘Cleanup Campaign Green Earth.’
He said that the cleaning drive is carried out annually in Shillong including other volunteer activities like blood donation, donation of household items, victims of natural calamities, etc.
“ASEZ means Save the Earth from A to Z and WAO means, we are one Family, and together it means let us save Mother Earth as one family. All our activities come from the teachings of Jesus Christ,” he added.
Shillong Municipal Board supervisor Everson Kharnaior and others participated in the clean drive.
