Despite instructions against this very practice, a voter in Mairang constituency has apparently taken a video in the polling booth while casting a ballot on Monday, leading to the Returning Officer instructing police to ascertain the voter’s identity and take legal action.
The polling station was in Pyndengumiong Donggate. The video where the person, believed to be a man, “blatantly disclosed” who he voted for and was then shared on social media.
This, the Returning Officer said, is in gross violation of the Conduct of Election Rules 1961.
