Shillong, Jul 31: Over 100 ex-servicemen attended a second career option workshop conducted under the aegis of HQ 101 Area here today.
The workshop focuses on identifying transferable skills, providing training, and connecting veterans with potential employers.
Presentations were made by representatives of PRIME and CM Elevate, Department of Fisheries Meghalaya and Meghalaya Rural Bank.
Keeping in mind that veterans who retire in their middle age have considerable capacity to serve the society in various capacities, the workshop provides a platform for the ex-servicemen to interact with the government machinery.
The veterans are left to choose their second career options available. Once the options were identified they will be registered, a statement said.
