The Additional District Magistrate in charge of Ranikor civil sub-division has passed an order under Section 144 of the CrPC regulating the passage of vehicles on bridges of concern in the area.
Specifically, the ADM was referring to the wooden bridge that collapsed at Photkroh on the Mawphlang-Balat-Gumaghat-Maheshkola (MBGM) road last week and a “worn out” bridge at Assimgittim, near Upper Puksora.
The ADM stated that, henceforth, there would be a ban on the plying of heavy vehicles on the route, that all movement of light vehicles should be staggered, that there would be a halt of vehicular movement between 8pm to 6am daily and a ban on parking near or on the bridge.
The order was issued on January 17.
